About The Role
Hostess, Wellness / Retail at the Siro Fitness lab plays a vital role in delivering exceptional guest experiences and ensuring the smooth operation of the fitness center. This position requires a blend of hospitality and fitness knowledge, with responsibilities that include greeting and assisting guests, managing gym reservations, providing information on fitness services, and maintaining a welcoming environment. Must live the brand concept, being active, with an understanding and love for sports activities.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
- Guest Services: Greet guests warmly
- upon arrival at the gym, assist with check-ins, and ensure all visitors feel welcome. Address guest inquiries regarding gym facilities, classes, personal training, and other wellness services.
- Reservations and Scheduling: Manage gym reservations, including class bookings and personal training sessions. Coordinate schedules with fitness instructors and trainers to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Facility Management: Ensure the gym area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies (towels, water, etc.). Monitor equipment usage, report any maintenance issues, and ensure a safe environment for all guests.
- Sales and Promotion: Promote gym memberships, wellness packages, and special events to guests. Assist with selling products such as gym apparel and supplements.
- Administrative Duties: Handle administrative tasks such as record-keeping, processing payments, and maintaining guest records. Ensure all guest interactions and transactions are documented accurately.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other hotel departments (e.g., housekeeping, maintenance) to ensure the gym meets the hotel's standards of service and cleanliness. Collaborate with fitness staff to enhance guest experiences.
- Always keep a positive and motivated attitude, being an example.
- Follow the Grooming standards.
- Maintain effective communication with all related departments to ensure smooth service delivery, building mutual trust and respect.
- Understanding employee positions to perform duties in employees' absence – including Front desk duties.
- Ensure regular on-job training is performed and all SOP’s followed.
- Regular check of LQA / Forbes Standards as applicable.
- Attend the daily handover briefing when on shift and be able to pass the necessary information related to guest’s requests.
- Being an active knowledgeable person about Memberships, activities, and services.
- Being able to advise on the best programs and nutritional requirements.
- To assist with any other duties as required by the line manager or another member of the management team.
- Provide services that are above and beyond for guest satisfaction and retention, interacting with guests to obtain feedback on overall satisfaction.
- Establish a positive and active relationship with the guests, maintaining a high visibility in public areas and being knowledgeable of the Siro product.
- Always maintain a high level of knowledge to upsell and cross-sell services and facilities to our guests.
- Always seek opportunities of service improvement.
- Understand and implement all emergency plans including accidents, death, elevators, thefts, vicious crimes, bombs, fire, etc.
- Understand and comply with security, health and safety policies and procedures pf the hotel.
- Be aware of cybercrime and common scams as communicated by the Kerzner Global IT team, filter and detect these attempts, and ensure that guest and company safety is protected.
Experience, Skills & Education Requirements
- Must be computer literate, knowledge of MS Office, Excel and Opera is essential.
- Must be able to work well under pressure and be able to multi-task.
- Must have experience in a five-star environment for a minimum of 2 years. Experience in pre-opening is an advantage.
- Experience in guest services required.
- Must be fluent in verbal and written English. Additional language skills are an advantage.
- Proficiency in using reservation and booking systems.
