Job Description
Reporting to the General Manager, the Finance Manager is responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the Finance Department, ensuring accuracy and integrity across all financial transactions, reporting and controls.
What you will be doing:
Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee daily financial operations including internal controls, accounting transactions, cash management and bank reconciliations
- Prepare and review monthly and annual financial reports, forecasts, budgets and cash flow analyses in compliance with local regulations and IFRS
- Monitor and review revenue control reports, daily cashier reports and income records to ensure accuracy and timely posting
- Manage accounts receivable and payable, ensuring timely collection and payment in line with credit policies and minimizing outstanding debt
- Prepare financial projections and deliver reports to the General Manager to support business decision-making
- Act as authorized signatory for hotel bank accounts in accordance with company policy
- Collaborate with external auditors, tax authorities, banking partners and the General Manager on all financial matters, ensuring full and timely disclosure
- Maintain the chart of accounts, process monthly journals and ensure all deadlines are met in line with reporting schedules
- Ensure all financial documentation and historical data is maintained, always archived and audit-ready
Operations & Controls
- Implement and continuously improve internal controls to protect hotel assets and ensure compliance with company policies and local law
- Liaise with Purchasing on inventory controls, goods receiving, stock management and operational procedures
- Collaborate with IT on accurate revenue recording and system reporting
- Oversee physical inventory counts of stock and equipment
- Ensure all departmental manuals are prepared, current and consistently applied
- Attend daily operational briefings and support cross-departmental financial queries and guidance
- Cover administrative and financial coordination during the General Manager's absence when required
Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise, schedule and manage the performance of the finance and accounting team on a daily basis
- Train and develop team members, including front office and F&B colleagues on credit and cashiering procedures, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability and continuous improvement
- Conduct annual performance evaluations and provide regular feedback
- Support internal training initiatives and develop in-house trainers within the department
- General
- Uphold Mövenpick and Accor standards of professionalism, discretion and confidentiality at all times
- Maintain a positive, motivated and solutions-oriented approach in a fast-paced international hotel environment
- Carry out additional tasks as directed by the General Manager in line with business needs
Qualifications
What we are looking for:
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field, master's degree or professional certification (ACCA, CPA, CFA) is an advantage
- Minimum 5 years of experience in finance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Hotel or international hospitality experience strongly preferred
- Solid knowledge of IFRS, local accounting regulations and tax legislation
- Proficiency in financial ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, SunSystems, MC Materials Control or similar) and advanced MS Excel
- Strong analytical, organisational and leadership skills with the ability to work to deadlines in a dynamic international environment
- High degree of integrity, discretion and professional ethics
- Fluent in Montenegrin (BCMS) and English, additional languages are an advantage
