The Chedi Luštica Bay, we are looking for a
Chief Steward who leads by example, understands relevant standards and brings structure, discipline and pride to our stewarding operations.
Your Role
As
Chief Steward, you will be responsible for overseeing all stewarding operations, maintaining the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene across kitchen and back-of-house areas, and supporting the Culinary and F&B teams in delivering outstanding guest experiences at The Chedi Luštica Bay and Luštica Bay Vacation Homes.
This position is based on-site and reports to the Executive Chef.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Managing and supervising the stewarding team, including shift scheduling, training, and daily task allocation
- Ensuring all kitchen, storage, and back-of-house areas meet hygiene, safety, and cleanliness standards at all times
- Overseeing dishwashing operations and proper handling of kitchen equipment, utensils, and tableware
- Implementing and maintaining HACCP, LQA, and Forbes standards across stewarding operations
- Coordinating with Culinary and F&B teams to support smooth daily operations and special events
- Managing inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and stewarding equipment
- Ensuring proper waste management, recycling, and sustainability practices
- Ensuring the cleanliness and proper organization of waste disposal area
- Conducting regular inspections and taking corrective actions where needed
- Supporting onboarding and continuous development of stewarding team members
- Contributing to process improvements to enhance efficiency and operational excellence
- If needed, performing the duties of Kitchen Steward himself
Who We’re Looking For
- A professional with proven experience in stewarding operations, preferably within luxury hospitality or high-volume kitchens
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience is essential
- Strong knowledge of hygiene standards, HACCP, and kitchen safety procedures
- A hands-on leader with excellent organizational and people-management skills
- A dependable team player with a positive attitude and high attention to detail
- Someone who takes pride in cleanliness, structure, and supporting culinary excellence
