The Product Owner, Business Systems is responsible for defining and delivering enhancements to Tungsten Automation's suite of internal business systems including CRM, ERP, billing, and business intelligence applications. This role gathers requirements from internal teams and external stakeholders, translates them into detailed specifications, and works closely with IT engineering to ensure successful implementation. The Product Owner represents the voice of the customer and drives product direction to improve operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the product backlog and roadmap, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities, business objectives, and downstream/upstream impacts.
- Actively gather, document, and validate requirements from internal teams and external stakeholders through workshops, interviews, and observation of use cases.
- Use the product from various stakeholder perspectives (personas) to ensure solutions meet diverse user needs.
- Translate business needs into clear, actionable user stories, wireframes, and functional specifications, ensuring shared understanding across the team.
- Foster effective collaboration between Business Units, QA, and Development teams to ensure product success.
- Develop and maintain deep product expertise across CRM, ERP, billing, reporting and related business domains, and actively participating in functional testing to ensure product quality and relevance.
- Conduct product demos and provide training for major releases, ensuring all users are equipped to maximize the product's value.
- Use data-driven insights to analyze adoption metrics, user feedback, and feature effectiveness, continuously identifying areas for enhancement.
- Maintain transparent, data-backed communication with stakeholders on roadmap priorities, pipeline, and any changes in strategy or timelines.
- Represent the product team in cross-functional initiatives related to business systems.
Required Skills
- 5+ years building production systems in Java;
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, containers/orchestration and modern CI/CD.
- Good business English (B2): participate in technical discussions, write clear technical docs/RFCs
- Proven success in international, distributed teams: async-first collaboration, clear hand-offs across time zones, and effective communication skills.
- Nice to have: fintech/payments, e-invoicing experience.
Required Experience
- 3+ years’ experience in a product management or product owner role for enterprise business systems.
- Strong understanding of CRM, ERP, billing systems and business intelligence solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with technical and non-technical teams.
- Ability to translate business needs into functional requirements and technical specifications.
- Problem-solving skills with a focus on the customer experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Business or related field preferred
