Abroad, the EU is represented through more than 140 diplomatic representations, known also as EU Delegations, which have a similar function to those of an embassy.
The EU Delegation to Montenegro works in close coordination with the Embassies and Consulates of the 27 EU Member States. We are a fully-fledged diplomatic mission and represent the European Union in dealings with the Montenegrin government in areas that are part of the EU’s remit.
We offer
A position of
Driver (Local Agent Function Group V) in the Administration Section.
Under this post, the recruited person will be attributed functions depending on the needs of the Delegation and on the changes of these needs. The successful candidate will serve under the supervision and responsibility of the Head of Administration Section, providing support, expertise and assistance in the driving services.
List Of Duties And Responsibilities
- Drive official vehicles in compliance with traffic regulations and in view of ensuring passenger safety and vehicle longevity.
- Transport staff and visitors during missions, to meetings and other work-related locations.
- Deliver and collect mail, documents and other items from the Post Office, Ministries and other diplomatic missions.
- Maintain vehicle logs and provides input to the preparation of the vehicle maintenance plans and reports.
- Ensure proper day-to-day upkeep of the assigned vehicle by performing timely maintenance and minor repairs and arranging for major repairs.
- Undertake the car registration formalities.
- Assist in the customs clearance procedures.
- Perform small office maintenance duties (e.g., lifting, purchasing of items and office supplies).
- Keep informed the Delegation’s staff about specific traffic problems (Roadwork's or special events).
The contract offered to the successful candidate is a
fixed-term employment contract of two years, with a possibility of renewal under reserve of budgetary availabilities and operational considerations. The monthly base salary will depend on relevant and verified employment experience, typically starting from
EUR 1,268 subject to proof of three years’ relevant work experience. We offer a competitive benefits package, subject to certain conditions, including personal leave days, health insurance and a retirement savings plan.
The expected start date will be September 2025.

Assets (basis for selecting the best applicant)
- Education
- First Secondary school diploma
- A valid driving license (at least B category) obtained more than 5 years ago
- Good knowledge of Montenegrin and English (at least B1 Level)
- Good computer literacy (MS Office package)
- Professional experience
- A professional experience pertinent to the duties to be carried out of at least three years is requested.
- Have knowledge regarding the maintenance of the office cars (cleaning and technical checks).
- Assets
- Experience as driver for an international organization or Embassy.
- Knowledge on protocol matters.
- Knowledge of English language B2 level.
- Skills:
- Very good knowledge of Montenegro roads and landmarks and traffic regulations.
- Capacity to focus on priorities and to organize work to deliver on time.
- Be able to work independently as well as part of a team, under the supervision of the Head of Section.
- Commitment to work.
- Be stress-resilient.
- Ability to coordinate and communicate with a wide range of colleagues/passengers.
- Candidates must prove a good knowledge of MS Office package.
- The candidate must be flexibility to work under pressure and to respond quickly to new demands.
- Tact and discretion.
- Ability to follow rules and procedures.
- Be ready to work outside the normal working hours.
- Legal requirements:
- Montenegrin nationality or a residence permit or/and work permit in Montenegro.
- Specific requirements
- Final recruitment will be subject to succeed in passing the specific medical test for drivers.
