Our client, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to oversee the financial operations of the company they plan to acquire in Europe. This role is crucial for ensuring financial control, compliance, and alignment with corporate reporting standards. The Financial Controller will play a key role in integrating the acquired company's financial processes into our global framework, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and transparency in all financial activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Oversight and Control:
- Manage all aspects of the company's financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards, tax regulations, and corporate policies.
Reporting and Compliance:
- Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports to the headquarters and relevant stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain robust reporting systems to meet internal and external requirements.
- Collaborate with auditors to ensure smooth and efficient audits.
Post-Acquisition Integration:
- Support the seamless integration of financial processes and systems post-M&A.
- Identify synergies and implement best practices to enhance financial performance.
- Act as a liaison between the local entity and corporate headquarters, facilitating effective communication.
Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring the integrity of financial data.
- Develop internal controls and processes to safeguard company assets and optimize financial operations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CFA is preferred.
- Minimum of 7-8 years of experience in financial management, with a strong background in audit (Preferably 3-4 years of auditing experience)
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and local accounting regulations.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Multi-task oriented, and comfortable in a cross-functional team environment.
- Proficiency for, Microsoft Office applications especially in Excel and Powerpoint
- Strong leadership abilities with a proven track record of managing teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English
- Knowledge of a Balkan language
Reporting Line:
The Financial Controller will report directly to the CFO at the headquarters.
